Soulful electro-quartet Little Dragon are moving into their next phase; following on from last year’s ‘New Me, Same Us’, which hit #5 on the US Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums charts, new EP ‘Opening The Door’ is sure to provide us with even more dancefloor magic. Out 16th September, the release is shaping up to be sharper than ever – new single ‘Frisco’ comes as the latest teaser of the release, and its chilled out energy is downtempo perfection.
Thrumming with a rich, R&B tinged flow, Little Dragon have mastered the art of dancefloor minimalism, the track unfolding slowly, purposefully, every beat sharp and assured. While the track is more stripped back than other club-worthy anthems, Little Dragon still embody that feral need to move your body – it’s just captured in a more mature, gorgeously refined sound.
Speaking on the release of their new EP, the band have said that the track embraces evolution: “‘Opening The Door’ represents being brave and moving forward into the unknown. Endless possibilities and embracing uncertainty. We have so much new music to share, and it feels like we are finally opening the door and releasing it out from our bubble and into the universe!”
The band are currently on tour in the US alongside Leon Bridges, with dates in NYC, Boston, Washington, Chicago, and many more still to come.
