A sprawling, West Coast collective, Wooden Shjips can justifiably point at the new breed of psychedelic groups are shout: "we invented you!"
Which, of course, they sort of did.
Working with Thrill Jockey, the band's back catalogue contains all manner of lysergic highs, downers and lengthy, raga-like dirges. It's a helluva trip, trust us.
New album 'Back To Land' is due to be released on November 11th (pre-order), with the band broadening their sound as never before. Sure, it's inherently psychedelic, but the colours, the hues, the outlines are stronger, more dynamic than ever before.
