19th Icelandic poem set to music...
Uni Stefson

Possessing an enormously fertile creative community, Iceland seems to continually re-define itself.

Utilising traditional material in fresh, inventive ways, Iceland is able to chew up its past and focus on the present.

One half of Retro Stefson, Uni Stefson recently delved into the pot of Icelandic literature for an emotional new track.

'Enginn Grætur' is a 19th century poem, given a languid, orchestral setting by Stefson. The vocal is powerful, driving, with Viktor Orri Árnason helping to piece those evocative strings together.

Ending with a piece of coruscating noise, you can listen to 'Enginn Grætur' below.
