A mainstay at London radio station NTS, Throwing Shade has a particular taste, a particular style.
Drawn to the dreamier end of the R&B spectrum, the producer fuses this with an electronic sensibility which fuses the experimental with the ethereal.
Last year's 'Mystic Places' 12 inch was a warning shot, brimming with potential and soon-to-be-fulfilled ideas. New EP '19 Jewels' continues this impressive streak, with Throwing Shade promising more "cosmic R&B" and "digital soul".
New cut 'Sweet Tooth' is online now. Featuring guest vocals from Emily Bee, the producer throws in some soft-as-clouds synths and percussion which resonates with a Night Slugs fluorescence.
Check it out now.
'19 Jewels' is forthcoming on No Pain In Pop. Catch Throwing Shade live at London's Cafe OTO on May 8th.
