The Orielles dived into ramshackle indie pop on their debut album, matching barbed post-punk riffs to songwriting blessed with a charming naivety.
Now the Halifax natives have decided to show off their dancefloor nous, sharing a new double-tracker single aimed as the body, rather than the mind.
On the A-side 'Bobbi’s Second World' is an afrobeat-flecked groover, matching Northern Soul and fresh funk elements to a tale about their neighbour's cat.
The flip, however, has really caught our eye – it's a cover of one of the year's defining dance tracks, a slice of neo-disco from Peggy Gou.
'It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)' was hammered by virtually every festival DJ this summer, with The Orielles offering a clipped, anthemic take on the original.

After noticing a passion for songs that make us emotional; want to dance and quite literally 'forget', we decided to cover one of Peggy Gou's latest floor fillers, 'Itgehane aka It Makes You Forget' hoping that we could evoke the aforementioned qualities of music within other listeners!
