Stimulator Jones has shared new track ‘Vilified’.
The artist’s lo-fi touch has a caramel-soft feel, leaving the sonics raw and his feelings open in the process.
New album ‘Round Spiritual Ring’ is out next month, ushered out into the world through always on-point label Stones Throw. Hitting home on July 8th, the album is preceded by new single ‘Vilified’ and it’s emblematic of his approach.
The buttery feel has a playful element to it, but the lyrics actually discussed arguments within his relationship, and the way he sometimes feels ‘Vilified’ by his partner.
Production comes from Norway beatmaker DJ Fredfades, who assists across the full album project. The looping hip-hop beat is aligned to that soulful vocal, with Stimulator Jones – real name Sam Lunsford – wishing he could just “stop, and just turn back time.”
