Samantha Crain gets reflective on new release ‘Pastime’ - tune in now.

A new era continues for Samantha Crain with her rich, introspective new song, one that dissects the rituals of finding a new love to a background of steady guitars and layered synths.

‘A Small Death’ will be released via Lucy Rose’s newly formed independent label Real Kind Records on July 17th. The album is self-produced in its entirety.

The song is one of four tracks released ahead of the ‘emotionally-charged’ record, following illness and injury that presented the possibility of never playing music again.

The self-directed music video pays tribute to Crain’s town of Norman, Oklahoma. She comments:

"One at a time, we would have people come onto our set, having not heard the song, and not having much of an idea of what I’d be asking them. We’d play the song and I’d just say 'do whatever you feel, respond to the song, respond to me, respond to yourself.'"

Tune in now.
