It's a song about "being better for yourself and learning to love yourself..."

Oklahoma talent Samantha Crain has shared her new single 'Garden Dove'.

The American artist has been signed to Lucy Rose’s newly formed independent label, Real Kind, who will release her new LP.

Samantha's new album 'A Small Death' lands shortly, with new single 'Garden Dove' underlining her artistry.

It's a sure and simple return, one accomplished with what Samantha terms "a definite confidence and swagger..."

"So, with that idea in mind, this idea of being better for yourself and learning to love yourself, I started thinking about how much easier it was to connect with other people when you're actually revelling in and enjoying your own company as well. It reminded me of a cult of friendship, sort of building this great web and community around myself."

The songwriter helmed the full video, too, with the stark shoot taking place on some Oklahoma backroads.

She says:

"I was inspired by Robert Weine and Hitchcock and wanted to make it feel real and high quality but also homemade in a way."

"My friend Blake did the camerawork, I directed and did the costumes, my friends Nia and Izze (who were also in my 'An Echo' video) and Adam acted as my growing cult family. We filmed it on an extremely cold winter night on a dead-end street in Norman, Oklahoma."

Tune in now.
