Sam Willis has posted his new solo track ‘Frozen/Cirrus’ online – listen to it below.
One half of Kompakt signed production team Walls, Sam Willis recently decided to step out on his own. The beatsmith previously completed several remixes as a solo artist, but until now has shied away from making a full statement.
All that is set to change with new album ‘Winterval’. Available to pre-order now, the material shifts between classic House and Techno influences with Sam Willis also doffing his cap towards the ambient textures of Brian Eno and Aphex Twin.
As a preview, Sam Willis recently posted new cut ‘Frozen/Cirrus’. Expansive, probing electronics the piece is built around a bouncy, four on the floor rhythm while the layered synths have the same emotional tug which fans find in Nathan Fake or even Four Tet’s work.
