Listen: Rise Against, ‘But Tonight We Dance’

Exclusive stream scenes...

Chicago punk-rockers Rise Against have been everywhere, seen everything, and sold thousands of T-shirts. Basically. Since forming in 1999, the four-piece has maintained an upwards career trajectory, turning underground credibility into commercial success and seeing their albums attract critical accolades aplenty.

Between 2011’s ‘Endgame’ – a set of “bona-fide awesomeness” wrote Rock Sound in its 9/10 review – and a brand-new studio set next year, Rise Against is issuing a collection of B-sides and covers, ‘Long Forgotten Songs’, on September 9th, via Interscope Records. And Clash has an exclusive stream of one of the compilation’s tracks, ‘But Tonight We Dance’.

‘Long Forgotten Songs’ is available to pre-order now. Of the release, frontman Tim McIlrath says:

“Rise Against has put out six records, and each one we’ve been proud to put our name on. But we are just as proud of these 26 songs, which slipped through the cracks and never ended up on any of our full-lengths.”

Certain tracks on ‘Long Forgotten Songs’ are previously released – but now they’re all together in one place. Handy.

Rise Against headline this year’s Warped Tour event at London’s Alexandra Palace, held November 16th-17th. Head to the band’s official website for more information, and to pre-order ‘Long Forgotten Songs’.
