Soaring pop riser Rina Sawayama has delivered impeccable new single 'Cherry'.
The singer confronts sexuality and gender on the irresistible new track, a future-facing slice of pop that matches gorgeous melody to some furiously innovative ideas.
Out now, 'Cherry' has a pan-sexual sweep, a broad-minded, completely open attitude to love, attraction, and passion.
Rina recently spoke to Broadly about the track, commenting:
“I've always written songs about girls. I don't think I've ever mentioned a guy in my songs, and that's why I wanted to talk about it. For me there's still a lack of representation. I just think the reason why I wasn't so comfortable with my sexuality was because there was no one on TV or anywhere that I could point at and go, "Look mum! This person is what I was talking about!"”
Bursting with pop energy, you can check out 'Cherry' below.
Catch Rina Sawayama at London's Heaven venue on October 19th.
