Listen: r beny – ‘northern breath’

It's an ultra-soothing piece of modular electronics...

r beny has shared his beatific new song 'northern breath'.

The composer – real name Austin Cairns – is a key name in the modular underground, with his compositions gathering a devoted cult following.

Initially selling his projects on Bandcamp, his approach – limited runs, high in quality – have ensured that each release sells out.

Belgian imprint Dauw have stepped in to collect r beny's discography on a new vinyl set, with 'Seafoam & Dust' out on June 19th.

Pre-orders have completely sold out, with the albums also being sold individually.

We're able to share bubbling, exploratory track 'northern breath' and it feels like a fine whisky, the organic instrumentation absorbing the flavours of the world around it.

Slowly evolving, r beny allows the song to take its own path, shaped by a thirst for melody and a sharply-defined emotional touch.
