Listen: Quakers – Smoke ft Jonwayne

Old skool.

Quakers are streaming another new track ahead of the release of their self-titled album.

Uniting three producers, Quakers are an extremely loose knit collective. Hooking up with Stones Throw, Fuzzface (Geoff Barrow), 7-Stu-7 and Katalyst are planning to release their self-titled debut album on March 26th.

A vast, sprawling hip hop love letter the trio were able to rope in a number of special guests. Setting live a number of previews on the Stones Throw SoundCloud, Quakers recently unveiled a cut with Jonwayne.

The underground LA figure adds some deft rhymes to the hazy, laid back production which owes a real debt to Golden Age figures such as A Tribe Called Quest – as well as some seminal figures from the Stones Throw roster.

Fancy another preview? ‘Fitta Happier’ samples a brass band tackling Radiohead, with some cut up beats pushing the track into the left field. Listen to it below.

‘Quakers’ will be released on March 26th.
