Pepe Deluxe seem to have an almost pathological desire to push things as far as they can go. Employing an manner of bizarre instrumentation – including an organ built into the side of a mountain – their recent album ‘Queen Of The Wave’ was almost impossible to dislike.
Sublime Acid-punk, Pepe Deluxe are gearing up for a new single. ‘Go Supersonic’ – let that title soak in for a minute – will be released on May 21st, matching chirpy, un-Easy listening vocals to demented guitars and a stomping Sonics style beat.

“You’re playing something that’s really quiet in this massive cave. There’s a speaker system that enables you to hear the stalactite sounds a bit better. You’re surrounded by the sounds of the cave echoes, also the water’s dripping and tourists filing by; it’s like listening to a classical music concert while being in the centre of the orchestra.”
