Listen: Nick Cave x Debbie Harry

Covering The Gun Club...

Nick Cave and Debbie Harry have covered The Gun Club for a new tribute album – stream it below.

The Gun Club are a perennially under-rated group. Fusing a distorted view of Americana with some often searingly personal songwriting, the band left a compact, influential legacy.

A new tribute album has been arranged, focussing on the work of frontman Jeffrey Lee Pierce. Sadly passing away due to a brain haemorrhage in 1996, the new album uses fresh renditions of unreleased material.

Filtering through demo tapes and home recordings left in the songwriter’s loft, ‘The Journey Is Long’ will be released through Fuse. Debbie Harry and Nick Cave cross swords on ‘The Breaking Hands’ – stream their rendition below. (via Mess & Noise)
