Listen: Mr Cutts Drops Debut Single ‘Weekdays’

Golden hour feel on debut single...

Multi-talented North London artist Mr Cutts has shared his debut single ‘Weekdays’ in full.

A songwriter, performer, and producer, Mr Cutts has carved out a potent niche in UK music, including a slew of high profile writing credits.

Recently working on Stormzy’s H.E.R. enabled ‘One Second’ – on Big Mike’s No. 1 album ‘Heavy Is The Head’ – he’s also spent time in the studio with everyone from Greentea Peng to Big Zuu.

His own work, however, is where Mr Cutts truly comes into his own. New single ‘Weekdays’ is out now, and it utilises the soundtrack to his upbringing – blues, folk, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll – while marrying this to his obsession with hip-hop breaks to create a golden hour feel and instant ear-worm.

Chopping and sampling old school elements, he re-imagines these with new instrumentation played by Tobbie Tripp (Tom Misch guitarist/strings), Fred Cox (Rag n Bone Man/Grace Carter), and Jim Jnr on Wurlitzer.

'Weekdays' lands like the first rays of spring sunshine breaking through the clouds.
