Listen: MGMT Cover Bauhaus

'All We Ever Wanted Was Everything'

MGMT are streaming their version of Bauhaus’ classic cut ‘All We Ever Wanted Was Everything’.

Cast are as a carefree party band due to the success of debut album ‘Oracular Spectacular’, MGMT have evolved into something quite different. Second LP ‘Congratulations’ was a challenging return, name checking cult psychedelic hero Dan Treacy amid a sharp change in direction.

Invited to curate a mix for Late Night Tales, MGMT have responded with something typically eclectic. Containing a raft of psychedelia, the Brooklyn outfit have also included post-punk cuts from The Wake and more.

Felt supply some arch indie pop, while Paul Morley ends the mix with an exclusive spoken word piece. MGMT have recorded new material for the mix, opting to cover ‘All We Ever Wanted Was Everything’ by cult Goth heroes Bauhaus.
