Leif Erikson have marked their return with graceful new song 'Matter' – tune in now.
The band have taken their time to ponder what they might do next, working on fresh material at their own exacting pace.
2019 promises much, with a full EP on the horizon and further live plans including a flurry of headline dates.
New song 'Matter' leads the way and it's a wonderful return, epitomising the band's nuanced, subtle songwriting.
Driven by those lingering piano chords and a vocal full of longing, it was seemingly written “to capture something esoteric about life’s purpose, about making the right choices and following the path that is right for you. What is it to be a human and be given this existence that is such a bizarre miracle, but can also be full of pain and struggles. Are there any clues within the infinite universe, a tiny blip of which we occupy or is everything simply the product of chaos?”
“We were very inspired by Curtis Mayfield's album ‘Roots’ when thinking about ‘Matter’. He so effortlessly makes these incredible statements about life and society over these stunning, super funky musical arrangements.”
Tune in now.
