Listen: Kelly Lee Owens – ‘Arthur’

Featuring guest production from 'Lucid'

Record shops are much more than just commercial outlets – they act as hubs, as meeting points, as a centres for creative thought.

Take Pure Groove. Now sadly closed, the shop was a place where people could come and hang out, peruse the shelves and – hopefully – pick up something they'd never heard before.

Daniel Avery, Ghost Culture and Kelly Lee Owens all worked in the shop, kicking off a series of friendships which still endure.

Kelly Lee Owens guested on Daniel Avery's debut album, lending her vocals to three tracks and co-writing 'Knowing We'll Be Here'.

Now working on solo material, Kelly Lee Owens has again hooked up with Ghost Culture. New single 'Lucid' is forthcoming, with the singer now placing the flip online.

An excellent example of texture and atmosphere, 'Arthur' is a blissful, beatific. There are shades of My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless' in the vocals, while the electronic production bubbles away in the background.
