Julian’s new single, ‘Nineties Kids’, is a breakneck adventure through that very human of feelings: nostalgia.
With driving pop-infused percussion – reminiscent of ‘80s power tunes – pushing the track forward, Julian’s up-close, intimate vocals give a sense of that very personal sense of yearning for something just out of reach, hard to pinpoint exactly but easy to feel.
The track also showcases his versatile songwriting abilities, exhilarating rhythmic pace perfectly reflecting the whirlwind of nostalgia, revelling in what it means to be young and naive…and avoiding growing up.
“It's a song about longing for nostalgia, even though you're not really old enough to feel nostalgic,” Julian explains of the track. “Just the longing for something makes sure the memories give you a smile on your face.”
‘Nineties Kids’ marks a step on for Julian since his 2019 track ‘Miss America’, a poignant ballad that contrasts with the up-beat stylings of the current release.
Tune into ‘Nineties Kids’ now…
