It began almost as a dare. J Mascis was asked to write a few songs on acoustic by a friend, with the results spiralling into 2010's wonderful solo album 'Several Shades Of Why'.
Since then, Dinosaur Jr. have delivered another sterling studio album, taking the guitarist around the globe in the process.
Now J Mascis has confirmed plans for his next solo LP. New album 'Tied To A Star' is set to be released on August 25th, produced by Mascis and mixed by John Agnello at Bisquiteen in Amherst, MA.
Guests include Ken Maiuri (Young@Heart Chorus), Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession), Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion) and Chan Marshall (Cat Power).
