Hailing from the South Coast, Art Is Hard Records is rapidly emerging as a vital force in British guitar music.
The collective have a knack for uncovering the Next Big Thing – whether that be Splashh or Best Friends – and their recommendation is highly sought after.
Thomas Crang began writing songs in Plymouth, with his tattered yet sickly sweet slacker hymns catching attention. A cigerette box shaped cassette release under the name of Gorgeous Bully soon followed, before Crang upped sticks and moved to Manchester.
Gaining a full band, Gorgeous Bully then went back into the studio. New EP 'Nobody Hates You As Much As You Hate Yourself' is set to be released on February 17th, with Art Is Hard once again stepping in to show support.
It's an engrossing return. The songwriting feels more confident, muscular even, but that inherent insecurity – so beguiling on the debut EP – shines throughout.
Clash has been handed preview cut 'Couldn't Keep It To Myself' and we're delighted to be able to share it with you. A picture-perfect three minute pop song, it's steeped in that slacker aesthetic yet with a defiantly British twist.
Listen to it now.
