White Lies support slot confirmed
Frankie Rose

Frankie Rose has unveiled a cover of seminal punk/goth outfit The Damned - listen to it below.

At one point, Frankie Rose stood at the centre of Brooklyn's ramshackle indie-pop scene. Since then, though, the songwriter has broadened her wings, and moved into rather more blissful, ambitious territory.

New solo album 'Herein Wild' - her first on Fat Possum - has a glistening, Gothic edge which continually finds the beauty in melancholy. Underlining her intentions, Frankie Rose included a cover of legendary goth/punk act The Damned.

'Street Of Dreams' was released in 1985, and arguably marks the high-point of The Damned's transition from punk to goth. Given a subtle, seductive rendering by Frankie Rose, the American artist stamps her own identity over the original whilst remaining respectful to the British band's work.
