Jamie xx has stepped in to remix Four Tet's recent cut 'Lion' – stream it below.
Four Tet isn't holding back. 2012 has witnessed a flurry of new material from the producer, with Kieren Hebden releasing a series of 12 inch cuts alongside the occasional remix. Deciding that a full length statement was perhaps appropriate to mark this creative spell, Four Tet gathered a number of previously released tracks as 'Pink'.
Alongside the numerous 12 inch only releases, Four Tet added two new tracks. 'Lion' was a typically beautiful track, with Jamie xx stepping in on remix duties. Retaining the essential swing of Kieren Hebden's original production, Jamie xx adds a renewed sense of intimacy.
Stretching out the track, the producer utilises space as an instrument in itself with the sparse remix building and collapsing, building and collapsing to dramatic effect.
Ending with a skeletal garage beat, this new version of 'Lion' finds the two producers interlocking effortlessly.
