The songwriter has established her identity across a series of vital releases, pitch perfect pop with a personal streak.
New single 'Hello' is a case in point. Sharply melodic, it's a concise return, but with that added autobiographical edge.
'Hello' reveals a toxic on-off relationship, and Emily's inability to remove herself from her feelings.

“‘Hello’ is about the one person who seems to always wait for that opportune moment you’re about to get over them, before finding a way to re-enter your life.”
“It might be a simple text or call, or maybe you run into them on a night out and suddenly you’re right back at square one, remembering all the reasons why you wanted them in the first place. And the worst part is, they’re blissfully unaware that it even hurts you at all.”
