Continually inventive London producer Deadboy recently signalled plans to release a new EP.
Out this week via Local Action, 'White Magick' is a sterling return, packed with gorgeous tones, ramshackle percussion and gloriously individual blemishes.
The six track affair opens with sumptuous 'White Moon Garden' – all oriental chimes, snap-crackin' snares and twilight atmosphere.
'Inner Palace' seems to channel both 16-bit soundscapes and UK funky, while 'Rye Angel' is a ghostly South London hymnal.
With its gunshots and flute sounds 'Sad Sniper' feels like inverted grime, the inward cousin of 'Copwar'. Finishing with the near ambient climes of 'I Will Let His Ocean Flow Through Me', it's another imposing document from Deadboy.
