Cosima seems to take things a little deeper.

Sure, the singer - newly snapped up by Island - has a lust for melody, an infatuation with the pop song, but this is expressed in an unusual, intelligent manner.

Take new track 'Girls Who Get Ready'. On one hand, it's a celebration of the empowerment, of the sheer fun that can be had by a group of girl friends dressing up before a night out.

Yet it also cuts a little deeper, questioning some of the expectations society places on women. Cosima explains:

“I wanted to express the insecurity I was feeling. But I also wanted to celebrate a self improvement that doesn't bleed into self destruction.”
