Listen: Chad VanGaalen – Where Are You?

New clip features his bizarre illustration...

With the weight of pop culture on our shoulders, it's extremely difficult to do something genuinely new.

Yet somehow, Chad VanGaalen seems to manage it. The Canadian illustrator/songwriter lives up in the hills, where he seemingly allows his imagination free rein.

New album 'Shrink Dust' drops on April 28th, with Sub Pop helping out the idiosyncratic talent.

Ahead of this, VanGaalen has posted the video for new track 'Where Are You?' online – and it's something to behold.

Musically, it finds Chad VanGaalen chafing at the restraints of indie rock, verging on far out psychedelic realms. Visually, the illustrator is at his demented best – opening with a naked figure seated on a toothbrush, it's a wild, weird journey through the Canadian artist's mindset.

Watch it brlow.

'Shrink Dust' is set to be released on April 28th.
