Cat Power and Angel Haze cross swords on a new remix of 'Manhattan' by Ryan Hemsworth.
On the surface, Cat Power and Angel Haze would seem to be from different worlds. Chan Marshall is a songwriter steeped in blues, soul and country with her husky croon wrapping itself some beautifully honed material.
By contrast, Angel Haze is one of Stateside hip hop's hottest properties – someone who confronts the darker chapters in her life with brutal honesty.
Yet a new Ryan Hemsworth remix unites the pair. Hitting the web last night, the producer's re-working of 'Hallelujah' plays the two against one another – Cat Power's voice sits in between the brutal rhymes of Angel Haze.
Perhaps the two have more in common than we thought, with their shared – profoundly autobiographical – approach helping to bind them together.

Cat Power, of course, has endured numerous personal difficulties of late. The songwriter battled health and financial problems during 2012, but opened the New Year on a high – receiving a BRIT Award nomination.
Good luck, Chan!
