Babe have a past.
Singer Gerard Black and Michael Marshall previously worked together in Findo Gask, a band whose undeniable potency was never quite realised.
Spending time on the road (and in the studio) with Francois And The Atlas Mountains, Gerard Black began focussing on his own material.
Hooking up with some old friends – Thomas Ogden and Amaury Ranger provide the two extra sides on this rectangle – Babe was born.
Currently working with Moshi Moshi, recent cut 'Tilt' set out their stall. Lilting, infectious rhythms were married to liquid, almost math-like guitar lines, while Gerard Black's voice cooed – as ever – up into the heavens.
As The Guardian point out, new track 'Aerialist Barbette' itself has a history. Initially played on Radio 1 (by Everything Everything, no less) a spruced up version is set to appear on Babe's forthcoming debut album.
Oh, and CHVRCHES' Lauren Mayberry drops past on back vocals. Tune in below.
Babe's debut album 'Volery Flighty' is set to be released on March 10th – a Kickstarter campaign has been launched to help fund five films to go alongside it.
