A. Swayze & the Ghosts have shared their swaggering new single 'Mess Of Me' – tune in now.
The band's outrageous live shows underline their immense precocity, while a string of singles – including a Rough Trade release – have emboldened their cause.
Entering 2020 with a real sense of purpose, new single 'Mess Of Me' is a choppy, adrenalin-soaked garage punk anthem.
It's reminiscent of early Vaccines or even Detroit groups such as the Von Bondies, while distilling their own outsider outlook.
Hailing from Tasmania, A. Swayze & the Ghosts discuss "inheritance" on the new single, but don't go expecting fancy heirlooms.
According to frontman Andrew Swayze, it's "the type of negative trait you may learn as a child voyeur of your surroundings. Hendrik brought the song to us with the chorus 'you're always trying to make a mess of me'. Since I don't have any saboteur but myself, I changed his lyrics and wrote the rest around the new chorus."
Tune in now.
