UK producer Liquid has placed his XL Recordings catalogue on streaming.
The producer is a key figure in the evolution both of the label – a modern powerhouse – and UK club culture as a whole. Liquid’s work on XL Recordings defines his artistic identity, five EPs and one acclaimed album – including his hit single ‘Sweet Harmony’.
For a long time Liquid’s work was only available physically, denying newgen clubbers the chance to explore the full expanse of his work.
Starting in January, XL Recordings began a programme to play Liquid’s work on streaming services – now complete, it’s a chance to dip into his rave lexicon.
Highlights include his vital ‘Future Music’ and ‘Liquid Love’ EPs, which move between rave, lush house, and even dubby, exploratory low-end.
Other releases include the influential ‘Time To Get Up’ – which contains a Liquid House mix that permeated club culture in the 90s, featured prominently in Paul Oakenfold’s famous 1993 set at Soak in Leeds.
