Linkin Park have recruited Emily Armstrong as their new vocalist.
The band – Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn – recently reconvened, discussing their future path. Linkin Park lost Chester Bennington seven years ago, and since then it was assumed that their time together was over.
Hosting discussions, the musicians opted against “trying to restart the band”, instead thinking of ways to protect Linkin Park’s legacy, while also moving forwards.
Amid intense speculation Emily Armstrong – of Dead Sara – has been recruited on vocals, with Colin Brittain on drums.
New album ‘FROM ZERO’ is out on November 15th – pre-order it online – with a handful of international tour dates being confirmed.
Notably, Linkin Park will play London – catch them at the O2 Arena on September 24th.
Mike Shinoda comments…
“Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
New single ‘The Emptiness Machine’ is out now – the first piece of new music from Linkin Park in almost a decade.
