A new event by the Roots and Shoots collective has been announced, with Lightspeed Champion set to play a very special show in the BFI Southbank on December 11th.
The new show will feature a screening of Hal Ashby’s darkly humorous cult classic ‘Harold And Maude’. As if that wasn’t enough, Lightspeed Champion will be playing a set of Cat Stevens covers crafting a unique soundtrack for the film.
A dark yet humorous comedy, ‘Harold And Maude’ features the death obsessed Harold (Bud Cort) and the lively septuagenarian Maude (Ruth Gordon). A redemptive tale of life and love, it will be perfectly complemented by Lightspeed Champion’s wonderful voice. Debut album ‘Falling Off The Lavender Bridge’ was released earlier this year, and will no doubt feature highly in the ‘Best Of 2008’ polls.
Following the screening the Roots and Shoots DJs will party the night away.
