Liars Release Live Album

'Live At The Music Hall Of Williamsburg'

Liars have released a new live album, recorded in their hometown of Brooklyn.

The Music Hall Of Williamsburg is one of the focal points of the Brooklyn scene, so much so that two live albums have been recorded there in the past twelve months. Mogwai recorded ‘Special Moves’ at the venue, with Liars now using the same spot.

The Brooklyn group returned to The Music Hall Of Williamsburg earlier this year, following the artistic success of their new album ‘Sisterworld’.

Released in Spring, the record was a subtle, thought provoking insight into the way people construct their own space. ‘Sisterworld’ was partially informed by life in California, with Liars moving out to the West Coast.

The album forms the backbone of the current Liars live set, with the band opting to record a show at The Music Hall Of Williamsburg. The album is a follow on from the recent ‘Live At The Shepherds Bush Empire’ set and could be seen as a sister album of sorts.

An always unpredictable live act, Liars are on spellbinding form as they blast through highlights from ‘Sisterworld’. A number of tracks from the album make the cut, alongside some older fan favourites.

Opening with ‘I Still Can See An Outside World’ the album contains the witch-folk of ‘We Fenced Other Gardens With The Bones Of Our Own’ and the industrial influenced strains of ‘Sailing To Byzantium’.

Demonstrating just how varied Liars can be, the album ends with a pulsating version of ‘Broken Witch’. Following on from the ‘Proud Evolution’ EP, the new live recording comes appropriately enough as Liars complete a short burst of British appearances.
