Liars Announce New Album ‘Mess’

Check out the first preview...

Liars are set to release new album 'Mess' through Mute later this year.

Liars are impossible to predict. The band swing from one extreme to another, with 2012's 'WIXIW' full length containing some of their most challenging, bracing and engrossing material to date.

Now they've decided to tear up the rule book yet again. New album 'Mess' will be released on March 24th, and – if the initial previews are representative of the whole – it could well be something special.

New cut 'Mess On A Mission' has emerged online, and it's a warped piece of synth-pop with a dark, funky edge. Reference points could well include Depeche Mode's stint in Berlin, with Liars supplying one of their most direct statements in some time.

Out on March 17th, you can check it out below.

Discussing the new album, Angus Andrews offers the following quote: "We are a reactionary, or maybe a better word is schizophrenic band. We go from one extreme to the other. Working on the last record was really doubtful and paranoid, and that's fine, but it just meant that when work started on this one, it was the exact opposite. It was way more instinctual, fun and confident."

Liars are set to release 'Mess' on March 24th. Tracklisting:
