Liam Gallagher has explained that sometimes fantasises about a film focussing on Oasis.
The Oasis story was always dramatic. Continually veering from triumph to tragedy, row to re-union, the Manchester band’s enormous success overshadowed British music for almost a decade.
Splitting in spectacular style backstage in France, the dust has now settled on their rollercoaster story. Currently focusing on cinema projects, Liam Gallagher has admitted that the Oasis story would make a fantastic film.
Speaking to The Sun, Liam Gallagher said: “Sometimes, when we’ve had a few drinks, we sit about telling stories and talk about putting them in an Oasis film. I’d be up for that.”
“But I’d start it with Paris. I wouldn’t want it to end on such a bummer. I’d start at the end and work my way backwards” he explained. “It’d be a long film but it’d be a film worth watching, believe me. It’d be a funny film and all.”
Naturally, any talk of an Oasis film would immediately be accompanied with rumours of a potential reformation.
Currently, the debate is focussed on 2015 – the anniversary of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’. Chatting to Rolling Stone recently, Liam Gallagher mischievously claimed: “In 2015, if we can put our shit aside, we can tour and play the album in its entirety for the 20th anniversary. I’d be up for that, if it’s on our terms. There’s got to be two-way respect.”
Continuing, the Beady Eye frontman turned the argument around the claimed that Noel Gallagher is the one fuelling the Oasis rumours. “He’s the one that keeps mentioning, I want to put him out of his misery. But I think he needs to do his solo thing first and realise he’s not that good without his brother.”
“He’s got to find out for himself. I’m up for it – I’m not desperate for it. If it doesn’t work out, I don’t give a shit, I’m quite happy with Beady Eye.”
Liam Gallagher is currently assisting on the production of the new Apple Records inspired motion picture ‘The Longest Cocktail Party’.
