Liam Gallagher has slated Muse and Mumford & Sons in a series of comedic rants.
Liam Gallagher is one of rock’s greatest bitches. The Beady Eye frontman simply detests much of pop culture, with his blinkered world view matched by a scabrous, foul-mouthed and deeply amusing wit.
Taking part in another round of interviews, the singer is preparing for the latest Beady Eye tour. Set to travel to North America, Liam Gallagher has bade farewell to Blighty with a series of amusing interviews.
Speaking to GQ, the frontman was asked his opinion of stadium demolishing Teignmouth trio Muse.
“Muse fucking scares me,” he admitted. “People like ’em. They at least play guitars, but when I hear his voice I’m like, ‘Ah, fuck him’.”
Elsewhere, the frontman claimed that he was once offered “a line” by the late actor Jeff Conaway during a previous trip to the States. “I went out … to this Marilyn Manson gig, and that guy from Grease with the walking stick—what’s his fucking name? He died a couple weeks ago. He was there and asked me if I wanted a line. I’m like ‘What the fuck? You’re meant to be in fucking rehab’.”
Sadly, Jeff Conway passed away earlier this year after decades battling his addictions to drugs and alcohol.
In another interview, Liam Gallagher informed Shortlist Magazine that Mumford & Sons looked like an Amish community. “They look like fucking Amish people. You know, them ones with the big sideys that don’t use electricity? Growing their own food and putting barns up. I need music to be a bit more sexy and played by people who look a bit fucking dangerous.”
Beady Eye are set to play T In The Park, Reading & Leeds and more this summer.
