Liam Gallagher On Beatles Film

Frontman not set to appear

British rock icon Liam Gallagher has denied rumours that he is to star in a forthcoming Beatles biopic.

The Beatles held a rare fascination for Oasis. While the Mancunian upstarts were more than happy to bitch about every group under the sun, the Fab Four were a strictly no go area for criticism.

Now singer Liam Gallagher is planning to be involved in a new film version of ‘The Longest Cocktail Party’. Written by Richard DiLello, the memoir is an insider account of life at Apple Records.

Formed by The Beatles, Apple undertook some remarkable projects blending art with music, the achievable with the outlandish.

Speaking to a press conference at Cannes, Liam Gallagher ruled out any career in cinema. “I’m not going into films, this is the last thing for me,” he claimed. “I mean I’m not going to get sucked into that.”

“I’m going to do this one thing because I like it, and I’ve got the opportunity to do it, and Andrew’s (Eaton) going to make it happen, and that’s it.”

Liam Gallagher has formed a new production company, with In 1 currently working on the biopic. Fans had speculated over whether the singer could appear in the film himself, something he ruled out: “I’m too good looking.”

Meanwhile, a re-make of ‘Yellow Submarine’ is due for release this year containing songs by The Beatles. Sadly, given all this activity there is still no word on a re-mastered, expanded version of ‘Let It Be’.

‘The Longest Cocktail Party’ is due for release later this year.
