Oasis frontman and all round hell raisin’ rock legend Liam Gallagher is reportedly set to move to New York, according to sources close to the band.
The singer has apparently been looking at property in the famous Dakota Building in New York – where long time Oasis idol John Lennon lived before his eventual assassination. Apparently Liam Gallagher has long harbored a desire to move to the Big Apple, and the Dakota building, with views of Central Park, is one of the most sought after properties in the city.
According to UK tabloid the Daily Star, a source close to the band said “he loves that part of New York and feels he’d be very much at home there. He would also feel close to Lennon’s spirit”.
Gallagher was previously rumored to be close to moving into an acting career – rumors that he dismissed.
John Lennon was shot dead outside the Dakota Building in 1980. His killer, Mark Chapman, was recently denied parole but will be able to re-apply in 2010.
