Liam Fender’s ‘Time Comes Around’ Is A Toast To The North East

His new video is a display of community...

Liam Fender knows that to take on the world, you need to be clear on your roots. The songwriter hails from the North East, an area of the country with a staunch sense of community, and profound appreciation of its historical heritage.

It’s something that comes through in his songwriting. Carefully hewn nuggets of wisdom, Liam Fender is aiming to reflect his background, while also providing a path forwards, a glimpse of his ambitions.

New single ‘Time Comes Around’ is a case in point. A song of reflection, it muses on his family, friends, and the communities around him. It’s a song about finding peace, with Liam Fender saying it is “in essence a song about things coming good after a period of prolonged sadness.”

We are able to share the video, which emerges as a celebration of his native North Shields, Newcastle. The ensemble cast features some well-known faces from the North East, matching local personalities against successful artists.

Directed by Sam Gannie, Liam left the shoot beaming. “All in all, it was a great day spent with great people. For me, it very much captured the spirit of what the song is about…”
