Leyla McCalla will release new album ‘Sun Without The Heat’ on April 12th.
The songwriter’s enchanting breakout record ‘Breaking The Thermometer’ landed in 2022, gaining wonderful reviews. Since then, she’s toured widely, while also fine-tuning ideas as to where her music could go next.
New album ‘Sun Without The Heat’ blends some of her core songs, infusing tropical Brazilian sounds and textures with aspects of afrobeat and Ethiopian folk sounds.
Out on April 12th, the record is trailed by two inspired, joyous moments of musicality. ‘Scaled To Survive’ yearns for personal independence, while the soulful ‘Tree’ is illuminated by Leyla McCalla’s lilting vocal performance.
