Leonard Cohen Album Details

Live album from legendary songwriter

One of modern music’s finest songwriters Leonard Cohen is set to release a new album recorded live in London.

Cohen began life as a poet and novelist in his native Canada. Drawn to the United States by the emerging counter culture Leonard Cohen settled in New York where he began making music.

His first two albums are nothing less than classic examples of rock poetry. Often accompanied by little more than a gently plucked guitar, Leonard Cohen intoned his beautiful lyrics that sounded a class apart from his contemporaries.

A career lull in the 70s found Leonard Cohen down on his luck, before a spectacular revival with the album ‘I’m Your Man’. A wonderful performer, Leonard Cohen completed a massive tour last year taking in venues across the world.

Amongst the most emotional of those dates was a two nigh stand at the O2 Arena last year. Before a capacity crowd Cohen played many of his best known material, with the loving relationship between audience and performer clearly evident.

The new album will be the singer’s first since 2004’s ‘Dear Science’ album and will be released on March 30th. The ‘Live In London’ set gathers the cream from those two dates, and will contain songs from throughout Cohen’s career.

Leonard Cohen enjoyed a timely profile boost over the festive period when his song ‘Hallelujah’ occupied the top two slots in the Christmas run down.

Leonard Cohen is set to release his new album ‘Live In London’ on March 30th.
