Leeds Alt-Pop Risers Peakes Share ‘Hole In The Floor’

New EP 'Absent In Person' incoming...

Leeds alt-pop risers Peakes have shared their glossy new single 'Hole In The Floor'.

The three-piece have completed work on their new EP, with 'Absent In Person' set to land on April 26th via tastemaker imprint Practise Music (Squid, Woman’s Hour, Konradsen, Osquello).

The EP is led by new single 'Hole In The Floor', all bubbling electronics, stuttering percussion and a glorious vocal from Molly Puckering.

A postwoman by day, she's able to wander the streets of Leeds, conjuring melodies as she winds a lonely path around the city.

At one point she sings: “I walk the streets with no gravity, Everyone is out of reach…”

Molly explains: "It’s an observation of a person who is drifting through their surroundings. They are detached from the outside world and float above the people that care about them and can help them. But it’s that acceptance of knowing that the further you let yourself drift the harder you will fall in the end."

Tune in now.
