Lee “Scratch” Perry, the wayward genius of Jamaican music, is set to return with his new album ‘The Mighty Upsetter’ due to be released on November 10th.
The latest result of his long running collaboration with Adrian Sherwood’s U Sound label, ‘The Mighty Upsetter’ is unusual in that it will feature vocals by the reclusive sonic alchemist. Lee “Scratch” Perry is undoubtedly one of the most significant figures in modern music – he produced Bob Marley, invented dub and built his own studio – the famous Black Ark.
Due to a fragile mental state, Perry has become a reclusive genius, only rarely releasing albums and touring. New release ‘The Mighty Upsetter’ finds Perry returning to his ‘Upsetter’ moniker – the producer first worked under this name in the late 60s.
