Legendary Led Zeppelin axeman Jimmy Page has dodged any question of the band recording new material, and denied that a full re-union tour will take place.
The guitarist was speaking at a press conference in Toronto for the premiere of the new film “It Might Get Loud” – starring Page alongside fellow six stringers The Edge and Jack White. Page was immediately asked a few questions regarding the Led Zeppelin reunion concert last year at the Ahmet Ertegun concert.
Rumours have persisted that the original Led Zeppelin line up, together with John Bonham’s son Jason, are set to enter the recording studio. Page denied these claims saying that “playing at the 02, that was our reunion and it was one day and it was at the 02 in London.”
The band split after the death of original drummer John Bonham, and Page is keen to downplay any suggestion of a full reunion, saying that “basically that was it because if you’re going to do a reunion, you need four members. John Paul Jones, myself and Jason would sort jam afterwards but it was nothing as monumental as people are speculating.”
Directed by David Guggenheim, “It Might Be Loud” stars Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White. It will receive its premiere at the Toronto International Film festival later this month, and there is currently no UK release date for the film.
