LCD Soundsystem Stream New Track

Plus New York show planned

New York dance punk dons LCD Soundsystem have streamed a track taken from their new album.

With their 2006 album ‘Sound Of Silver’ LCD Soundsystem meshed dance and rock into one coherent, emotionally gripping work. Lauded as one of the decade’s best albums the band have finally decided to return.

Completing new material in a Los Angeles mansion last year, LCD Soundsystem are to release their third album this summer. Still without a title, producer James Murphy has confirmed it will be the band’s last release.

One of the most anticipated releases of the year, the new LCD Soundsystem album has come with a healthy dose of hype and speculation. Recent leaks have been dismissed as fake, with the New York group choosing to stream a track from their forthcoming album.

‘Drunk Girls’ is the first track to be unveiled from the forthcoming album. In a message to fans LCD Soundsystem also confirmed a pair of shows in New York later this year.

“After much deliberation, it looks like we’re going to play shows in New York, where we live,” the band wrote on their blog. “After the shows we’re going to sleep in our own beds, which is somewhat amazing. We’re playing at Terminal 5.”

LCD Soundsystem are to play New York shows on May 20th and 21st. The band are to play a full UK tour this summer, with a number of festival appearances planned from the dance-punk dons.

The band have posted ‘Drunk Girls’ as a new clip:
