Lava La Rue returns with new single ‘Don’t Come Back’.
The London artist’s stellar new EP ‘Hi-Fidelity’ is incoming, with the project set to land on July 29th.
Recently sharing the title track – a neat duet with fellow NiNE8 member Biig Piig – Lava returns with something new, and slightly darker.
A moody piece of soul-pop with a low-slung bass line, ‘Don’t Come Back’ is about the push-pull of a toxic relationship. Lyrically, Lava really puts herself out there, imbuing truth at every turn.
She says the song is about “being in a relationship where you know that person isn’t good for you. But you can’t help but go back and forth with them. Instead of ripping off the band aid, it’s tearing it off slowly, and scratching at the scabs.”
