American pop polymath Lauv has shared his new single ‘Love You Like That’.
The songwriter is a force to be reckoned with, with his golden touch reaching an international audience. Long sought-after album ‘All 4 Nothing’ landed last summer, a bittersweet collection that showed Lauv at his most empathetic.
On its release, Clash reviewer Gem Stokes wrote: “Metaphorically and physically, ‘All 4 Nothing’s album cover depicts Lauv’s situation – not drowning, but floating – enveloped by waves of glittering synths, vocals with magnitude, and snappy melodies. But when the tide turns, one has to turn with it, or risk sinking.”
Set to play London’s eventim Apollo on October 12th, Lauv teases the date with an all-new single. The first page of a fresh chapter, ‘Love U Like That’ is a self-proclaimed “proud start” and it revels in precocious energy.
Somehow Lauv remains tapped in to his inner child, and ‘Love U Like That’ has a purity, a kind of innocence that is impossible to fake. Instantly addictive, the sugar-rush is aligned to some deft production moments.
