Laurence Guy has shared new single ‘Iron Mask’.
The songwriter’s new album is upcoming, with the snappily titled ‘Living Like There’s No Tomorrow, But Killing Yourself In The Process’ set to land on July 7th. Soulful and ambitious, he’s just shared a new single, and the instrumental counterpoint.
So, the single. ‘Iron Mask’ is out now, self-described as “the shortest, simplest idea on the album” but one that was allowed to grow and evolve. Utilising close friends – and his brother – Laurence Guy then invited Wayne Snow into the studio.
He comments…
“I received a draft within the first month of confinement and I had escaped with my wife to the south of France. As we were all forcibly confined to our homes I thought of that old French story about a prisoner wearing an iron mask (“l’homme au masque de fer”) and the mystery surrounding his identity.”
Online now, ‘Iron Mask’ comes equipped with instrumental version ‘The Sun’.
